So many choices in so many price ranges. I am happy I chose this one. It is a great buy for the price and the features.Picture quality is way better than a lot of projectors I've used. The throw is not super short, but shorter than some others. I think I easily get a nice 8 foot picture from about 15 feet away. It has all the features I wanted, especially lots of options for connecting. S-cable, HDMI, VGA, and some others. Keep in mind when using HDMI, from your computer, it also seems to feed the sound to the no so good speaker on projector--but there is a sound out on the projector, so you could feed the sound into powered speakers if you wanted. I think you can also maybe reconfigure the sound settings on your computer. Right now I just use a VGA cable, so no worries. We placed it about 13 feet away from the screen, and from that distance it projects an image about 72'' wide. I am quite pleased with how good HD movies look on this projector. The images are crisp. There are only two downsides to the projector that I see. It does put out a lot of heat. However, I learned that this is fairly normal for DLP projectors because they have more moving parts than an LCD projector. The other downside is that there is not an adjustment to angle the projector downward. The projector has some nice settings too for display such as color mode.
